What is a fire road trail?

A fire road trail, also known as a forest service road or logging road, is a wide path primarily designed for fire trucks and other emergency vehicles to access remote areas. These trails are typically unpaved, made of graded dirt, gravel or rock and may be lined with trees and vegetation. Fire road trails are often found in forested areas, wilderness areas, national parks, and other protected lands. They are also commonly used for recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Some fire road trails may be closed during fire season or sectioned off for restoration to replenish natural habitats.
